Support for Bursaries from Developing and Low-Incomes Countries to attend the 2009 CIDOC’s Annual Conference: We invite professionals from museums and cultural organization to apply for a Getty Grant. Country of provenance Applicant should come from one country of the following regions: Central and Eastern European countries, Latin America (included Chile), Africa, Asia, Arab States, and Pacific Islands.

Selection Criteria

1. Professional qualifications and experience Applicant must be a qualified documentation-related professional with a minimum of 3-5 years experience and must be currently employed in a museum or related institution.

2. Financial Needs Applicant should demonstrate a valid financial need and indicate all other possible funding s/he can get and give evidence that s/he has been looking for it. Surface travel, accommodations, visas, and other costs incurred in the home country will not be included in the grant.

3. Benefits of attendance and other criteria Applicants should answer briefly the following questions: - Are you presenting a paper at the conference? - How do you plan to disseminate the information and knowledge gained at the conference? - Have you been to another CIDOC conference before? - Have you been a bursary before: CIDOC or other conferences? - Are you applying for another major event in 2009? - Are you familiar with ICOM and CIDOC publications? - Are you a member of other professional bodies/associations?

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR GRANT-HOLDERS Please be aware that for some countries Chile request a valid visa to enter the country that must be obtained through the passenger in their country of origin. There are also some countries that require transit-visa for flight connections, like France, South Africa, United Arab Emirates, and China.
