THEME: Documentation in the XXI Century: connecting the cultural heritage information.

The next CIDOC Meeting 2009 to be organized in Chile, will be focused in the cultural heritage information connectivity, subject not solved in many countries around the world.

The Museum’ specialists and researches know that the documentation of collection is the best and effective way to preserve cultural heritage and information related with objects.

The challenge is for museum’ s professionals and other specialists to relate and link information belonging to other institutions directly with the objects’ and collections’ documentation, which are researched or hosted by museums, churches, universities, monuments councils, and other cultural heritage institutions. 

In what extent those documentation initiatives, related probably with governmental projects, can draw together the different types of cultural heritage?  This is the real challenge that we are facing in the XXI Century.
